A little worried

We have a 2:30 appointment at the vet.  Spencer woke up this morning and he is trying to limp.  His back right leg seems to have something wrong with it.  I can’t find anything, he doesn’t yelp; but he also is trying his hardest to not use that leg.  Him not yelping though doesn’t comfort me much… through all of this he has only shown that he was in pain one time and that was the day after his amputation when he tried to stand up and then fell forward on his incision.

We are up at the cabin, so 2 hours from our vet, hence the few hours until we will get in to see them.  Any good thoughts you can send him would be much appreciated.  Ugh.  We fly out tomorrow for a 10 day trip with him having a dog sitter at the house.  this is such a bad time, now I don’t want to go!  I’ll update you guys when we get back from the vet.

Spencer is our 5.5 year old Doberman. He was diagnosed with an aggressive fibrosarcoma on 8/22. He had his left front leg amputated on 8/24/11. Finished 15 weeks of chemo on 12/22/11 (mytox and vincristine). Lung mets found 12/28/11. Fought hard and lived a full life right up until the end. Went to Heaven 2/28/12.

  1. Will be sending LOTS of positive thoughts his way. Hopefully it is just a little overuse injury and he just needs to rest it.

It is the worst when you have to go out of town and are worrying about your pup. I hope you get good news at the vet so you don’t have to worry while you are away.

    Hang in there,

  2. just wanted to encgoraue everyone to keep fighting the good fight. Our fight is over at this point as we had to put our almost 7 year old Miss Riley Jo to rest yesterday. I came to this site when she was first diagnosed. She became a tripawd in May of this year as a result of the discovery of osteosarcoma in a front leg. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread to her lungs by this month and it was detected just 9 days ago. It moved so quickly and had overtaken our baby girl within 7 days. we didn’t know how long it had been present in her lungs as she showed no signs of distress until then. this is very difficult to write but i want to encgoraue all of you with tripawds to love them each and every day you have them.
