Spencer’s last chemo treatment is tomorrow!!

yay!  so happy to be almost done with it.  As I have mentioned previously, I’m a little nervous; but I’m also happy to be done with it (almost).  He hates going to the vet for those appointments, so it will be nice to not have them anymore!  And what a great Christmas present it is to not only have him still here; but to have him here feeling so great!

And… because I haven’t done it for a while, some pictures.  This was our Christmas card this year.  The picture of Spencer and the kids was the back and the cartoon was the front.  Notice that even the cartoon dog is a tripaw.  🙂  (it was a flat, 2 sided card.)

If I don’t manage to post again before Christmas – I hope that everyone has a great holiday weekend!

Spencer is our 5.5 year old Doberman. He was diagnosed with an aggressive fibrosarcoma on 8/22. He had his left front leg amputated on 8/24/11. Finished 15 weeks of chemo on 12/22/11 (mytox and vincristine). Lung mets found 12/28/11. Fought hard and lived a full life right up until the end. Went to Heaven 2/28/12.

  1. Hi my name is magen and I am 16 years old. About two months ago I resuced my dog Emmit from the pound. A pit bull attacked him earlier on in the year and his front right paw had to be amputated. The owners wanted to put him down but my boyfried, who is the vet tech at the clinic they took him to, re-schudled the euthanization so that he could try and find a home for him. Well he did! Emmit is the best dog in jthe world he is an Aussie and a Border collie mix. He is the happiest dog I have ever met. Well i was surfing the web when i stumbled across your website and I wanted to let you know that this is a wounderful website and it really encourges me that their are other people out there going through the same thing Emmit and I are going through. Thank you for such a wonderful resource.

  2. Magen – I’m sorry I let so much time pass without responding to your post. After Spencer died I kind of dropped off of tripawds for a while, until I could give advice without being really sad. I hope that Emmit is still doing great. 🙂
